A Toast to the Holidays ~ Golden Nogg Recipe

Happy Holidays from NAMA

As we step into 2024, we want to extend our deepest appreciation to you. Your engagement and involvement have helped us grow and improve, and for that, we are eternally grateful. We are excited for what the future holds for NAMA and the opportunity to continue serving you in the best possible way.

Here's a Golden Nogg (recipe below) toast to you and all that we have achieved together this year. Thank you for being part of this journey.

Recipe

There are 3 steps to this version…but once you get it, it’s super easy!

Step 1 - Cashew Mylk (cashews and water)

  1. Soak 1 cup of raw cashews in water 8-12 hours

  2. Rinse until water drains clear

  3. Place cashews in blender

  4. Add water (the more water you add, the thinner the mylk, so if you like a thicker  consistency, add less water, or see variations below)

  5. Blend well (about 3-5 mins on high, depending on blender power)

Step 2 – Turmeric paste (turmeric powder, ground black pepper and water)

  1. On medium heat, dry roast turmeric powder and black pepper in a small pot (about 2 mins)

  2. Add water and simmer while continuously stirring until it turns into a paste (think toothpaste…about 5-10 mins)

  3. Remove from heat

Step 3 – Golden Nogg (with cashew mylk still in blender, add the following and blend well)

  •     Turmeric paste

  •     Soaked and pitted dates (or your favorite sweetener)

  •     Vanilla powder

  •     Cinnamon

  •     Nutmeg

  •     Pinch of salt

  •     Coconut oil or ghee

For variations for this recipe, you can add more of the following: black pepper (increases heat), ginger (supports digestion), add cardamom (balances doshas).

You can blend on high speed for an extended time to heat up the Nogg if you prefer it warm.
