Ayurveda and the “One Addiction Process”

Monday, October 24, 2022 at 5:00 pm with Durga Leela, CAP

This seminar will focus on explaining how Yoga of Recovery initiates a conversation about how Ayurveda can make significant contributions to understanding the “one addiction process” we’re all involved in, without the need for heavy labels like addict or eating disorder. We can introduce more manageability to this scenario by helping people understand and recognize guna/dosha reactions and practical, timely “moving through it” suggestions—from the rhythms of dosha times, which bring alive the phrase “This Too Shall Pass” to shorter time frames. In our hyper-speed technological culture we can bring one day at a time to one dosha period at a time or even to one constructive sensory practice at a time.

Durga Leela, CAP, is a person in long-term recovery, certified Ayurveda Practitioner, yoga teacher, and yoga therapist (IAYT certified) based in the US. She has shared Ayurveda/Yoga as a Recovery Pathway in several Recovery Conferences over the last 20 years. She has served as the Director of the Ayurveda Programs at the Sivananda Ashram in California since 2003.
