Epidemic Obesity – The Role of Ayurveda

This lecture aims to provide an overview of the knowledge of both Ayurveda and modern medicine biotechnology on medoroga (fat disease, obesity). Both will be analyzed to provide a fully rounded perception of the pathology of obesity and the mechanisms involved and to illustrate how Ayurveda can contribute to its prevention and treatment.


Eduardo Cardona-Sanclemente, AD, DSc, PhD, MSc, received his Master of Ayurvedic Medicine at Middlesex University, UK; PhD at University Pierre/Marie Curie, Paris France, and Doctor of Science Paris XI – Sorbonne University, France. His international medical and scientific career spans professorships and senior scientific research posts at highly distinguished medical schools and universities.
