AYURVEDA & YOGA NIDRA
Nourishing Care of the Mind
In this Seminar we will explore the theory & traditional method of entry into a state of awareness known as Yoga Nidra, (Yogic Sleep or Sleepless Sleep). In our exploration we will touch on several ways that an Ayurvedic approach to lifestyle & self-care can be more easily adopted & sustained, with the internal mental & emotional nourishment provided by a regular practice of Yoga Nidra. With sustained practice, over time, the subtle benefits of Yogic Sleep can grow into a pillar of internal support, created from our own wise inner nature & serving a vital role in all of our self- healing endeavors.
We will take an insightful look into the expansive Ayurvedic & Yogic view of the Mind, translate several guiding & inspiring Sanskrit Sutras, & outline supportive Tanmatra & Yoga Chikitsa. We will unfold the ways that the gentle practices of Ayurveda & Yoga Nidra can offer ease of entry into a slower, more peaceful rhythm in daily life; ways that open our hearts & minds to new states of receptivity, & support us in making more expansive, conscious choices surrounding the natural care of ourselves, our loved ones, our communities & planet.
The traditional Yoga Nidra methodology of Swami Satyananda Sarasvati, derived & adapted from a Tantric Yoga practice, known as Nyasa, will be highlighted, & several curated practice resources given. Kari H. Nolan, CAP, CYT:
Kari is the founder of Shamana Eco Ayurveda, her small, private practice of over 20 years, which reaches clients in the Ohio Valley of both southern Indiana & northern Kentucky, as well as virtually worldwide. She speaks in rural communities on ways of returning to Nature, & the inherent ecology of Ayurveda for self-healing; ways to care for ourselves & the Earth as one. She enjoys teaching Marma, Nadi & Sanskrit to students of Ayurveda & Yoga.
Learning the nuances of Tanmatra Chikitsa from her teacher, Dr. Vasant Lad, has played a foundational role in the evolution of her Ayurveda practice. Kari specializes in helping clients to create their own Eco Ayurveda lifestyles, inclusive of understanding & nourishing care of their own senses, emotions & mind; herbal, sensory, sleep & traditional Hatha Yoga protocols abound. Symbiotic Marma, Craniosacral & Shamana body therapy sessions are one of her deep & earthy client experiences on offer.
Kari’s life, medicinal gardens & quiet practice grow in both Louisville, Kentucky & on family land in Indiana, within the diverse Hoosier National Forest, which she & her community work to preserve. Life in the Forest is a constant inspiration in her client care, which entwines Ayurveda with the art & poetry of Nature, as well as the living arts of Vastu & Jyotish, through Seminars & Seed Wisdom Courses.
