Wednesday, April 21, 2021, 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. PT

Join us in our final session to discuss methods that create an inclusive environment within our Ayurvedic practice and the profession. This session will highlight solution-focused approaches to celebrate diversity and inclusion. We will share methods to counteract the sources of conflict that acts of exclusion create and identify strategies to restore hope and a sense of belonging within our community and for our clients.

The Diversity & Inclusion sessions build off of each other. If you missed Part I or Part II, you can access a recording of the sessions here, which are linked from the Diversity & Inclusion page. Professional Members can earn PACE credits by participating in the live session or by passing the quiz following each recording.

Wednesday, March 17, 2021, 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. PT

As the progress of the social justice and antiracism movement that arose in 2020 continues to unfold, we once again face the reality of the many disparities that exist in our world. Join us for an open dialogue about our experiences with acts of exclusion. We will discuss the social, emotional, and physical impacts of unconscious bias and the stress from various forms of discrimination and prejudice, including, but not limited to, racism, colorism, classism, antisemitism, sexism, homophobia, ageism, xenophobia, and ethnocentrism. We will uncover ways to use our Ayurvedic practice in response to bias, oppression, and injustice, as well as highlight ways to maximize the truth-telling and healing process for ourselves, our community, and our clients.

Please listen to Part I before attending Part II. If you missed the live airing, members can access the recording here.

Also, if you have not done so already, please take at least one of the highly regarded Harvard Implicit Association Tests BEFORE joining us for the training, Part II. (If you have trouble accessing the testing site, try a different browser.) Your results are for you only and are meant to increase your awareness of your implicit biases. We all have them.

Wednesday, February 17, 2021; 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. PT

Join our Ayurvedic community for an interactive session examining the multifaceted dynamics of diversity and inclusion. Explore common issues such as power, privilege, cultural competence, awareness, sensitivity, and humility. We will explore the role that identity and intersectionality have in our work as Ayurvedic professionals. We will address how to hold space for clients to operate with self-awareness and assess our own awareness and biases.

Prior to our session, please complete at least one of the well-regarded and anonymous Harvard Implicit Association Tests. Choose the test that speaks to you. The results are for your own edification and will not be shared with NAMA. We will reference what we’ve learned during the session.
