Membership & Engagement Lead

Position Summary

The Membership & Engagement Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for members and supports the overall member experience of the organization. This role is responsible for membership administration, engagement initiatives, database management, member communications, and operational support related to membership programs, events, and organizational activities.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-oriented, tech-savvy, and enjoys building strong relationships with members, volunteers, and stakeholders. This individual will help ensure members feel connected, informed, and supported throughout their involvement with the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

Membership Management

  • Process new member applications, renewals, and membership updates 

  • Maintain accurate member records within the association management system (AMS/CRM) 

  • Monitor membership status and support retention efforts 

  • Respond to member inquiries in a timely and professional manner both in email and by phone

  • Assist with membership reporting and data tracking 

  • Support member onboarding and orientation activities 

Member Engagement & Communications

  • Coordinate member engagement initiatives and outreach campaigns in collaboration with the Membership Committee and the Communications and Marketing staff

  • Assist in developing and distributing member communications, including email newsletters and announcements 

  • Support committee, volunteer, and member participation efforts 

  • Help maintain website membership content and online resources 

  • Track member engagement metrics and participation trends 

Database & Systems Administration

  • Maintain and update the organization’s Association Management System/Customer Relations Management database (such as MemberClicks) 

  • Support event registration and attendee management 

  • Generate reports, mailing lists, and data exports as needed 

  • Assist with data cleanup and quality control initiatives 

Event & Program Support

  • Support membership-related events, webinars, conferences, and virtual programs 

  • Assist with registration management and attendee communications 

  • Coordinate speaker, volunteer, or committee logistics as assigned - forms build and management in AMS

  • Help ensure a positive and welcoming member experience during events 

Administrative & Organizational Support

  • Provide general operational and administrative support to the organization 

  • Assist with scheduling, documentation, and project coordination 

  • Support board, committee, or task force activities as assigned 

  • Maintain organized digital records and process documentation 

Qualifications

  Required

  • 2+ years of experience in community engagement, membership services, nonprofit administration, association management, customer service, or related fields 

  • Strong organizational and communication skills 

  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and BssiGoogle Workspace 

  • Experience working with databases, Customer Relation Management (CRM), or Association Management System (AMS) platforms 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently 

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills 

  Preferred

  • Experience working in a membership association or nonprofit organization 

  • Experience with MemberClicks or similar AMS/CRM platforms 

  • Familiarity with email marketing systems and website content management 

  • Experience supporting virtual or in-person events 

  • Understanding of member engagement and retention strategies 

  • Basic knowledge of Ayurveda

Compensation & Benefits
