Course Description: Learn Ayurveda body treatments - traditional oil massage (abhyanga), pouring oil over the forehead (shirodhara), how to introduce oil into the nasal passages (nasya), history and philosophy of Ayurveda, Ayurvedic and yogic psychology.
Course Objectives:
Learn and experience Ayurvedic bodywork "Bliss therapy" - hands on oil massage (abhyanga), shirodhara and nasya. Understand the history and philosophy of Ayurveda and its foundations.- the three great qualities, five elements, 10 pairs of opposites and the three doshas (vata, pitta, kapha), tissue formation (dhatus), channels of the body (srota), digestion (agni), toxins (ama) and wastes (ama). Ayurvedic and yogic psychology.
This eight-day, hands-on training lets you step away from daily routines and explore deeply restorative Ayurvedic body treatments, from traditional oil massage and shirodhara to core Ayurvedic principles. Learn in an inspiring retreat setting alongside like-minded practitioners, deepening both knowledge and practice in a truly restorative environment.

Isvari (Mary Ann Johnson) has been a sincere and dedicated practitioner of Ayurveda and yoga for more than 20 years. She is an advanced Sivananda Yoga teacher and a graduate of Dr. Vasant Lad’s Ayurvedic Institute, where she is on the faculty. Isvari travels internationally, lecturing, consulting, and facilitating panchakarma purification programs. She is the director of Ayurveda at the Sivananda Yoga Ranch.

Vidya (Denise Chapman) is a certified Sivananda Yoga Instructor, Ayurvedic Practitioner, licensed massage therapist, panchakarma therapist and a graduate of Dr. Vasant Lad’s Ayurvedic Institute. She is passionate about integrating Vedic sciences, teaching yoga, and sharing Ayurveda for well-being.
