Course Description
This course will review common diagnostic and therapeutic approaches of allopathic and functional medicine, for infectious disease, GI, hormones, ENT, neurology, inflammation and radiation including lab analysis, imaging, pharmaceuticals and surgery. The course will support students in developing techniques and skills to work with clients who are also cared for by allopathic practitioners, in understanding their medical histories and in working collaboratively with their allopathic practitioners.

Course Objective
1. Evaluate a client's symptoms and determine when referral to an allopathic medical practitioner is required. 2. Demonstrate the ability to work and communicate with allopathic practitioners about the care of their shared clients and chart a path towards working together. 3. Review allopathic diagnostic and therapeutic approaches used for for infectious disease, GI, hormones, ENT, neurology, and inflammation, including lab analysis, imaging, pharmaceuticals and surgery. 4. Compare and contrast Ayurvedic perspectives and methods to Allopathy, and the role of Ayurveda in the care of individual clients, as well as the broader Western health care system. 5.
