Course Description:
5-day Ayurvedic Body Therapies Intensive designed for Ayurvedic practitioners, students, massage therapists, & bodyworkers seeking to deepen their skills in traditional and trauma-informed Ayurvedic techniques. Training in: Two-therapist Abhyanga, single-therapist Abhyanga, Udvartana, Dhara (Shirodhara and other versions of dhara), Fundamentals of Marma Therapy, Dough Basti (Kati, Greeva, Hrid, Janu, Nabhi), Swedena (Theory, Steam Practicum), Lepum & Pichu, Ayurvedic Facial and Introduction to Panchakarma.
Course Objectives:
1. Give students the opportunity to both give and receive the above therapies, to gain a practical and experiential understanding of their therapeutic value and applications.
2.Learn the indications and contraindications of each therapy.
3. Learn various herbal formulations, oils, and preparations for body therapies.
4. Learn how to use tools like Kansa wand and tuning fork therapeutically.
5. Understand the relevance of Ayurvedic Body Therapies in the context of both Shamana and Shodhana applications.
