Course Description:
Join in a special group for a deep dive into the Ayurvedic postpartum healing techniques. Referred to as the “sacred window” in ancient texts, this is a crucial time in a woman and newborn’s life. Learning tools for supporting women during this time is a great gift to yourself, your family and your community. You will learn how to cook deeply nourishing meals, herbal tonics and infusions. You will learn how to give pelvic steams for postpartum, bind the belly and Marma massage techniques to support deep and lasting healing. You spend 5 days with an intimate cohort, laughing, sharing, learning and healing together. You will learn business tools to offer this to your community and continue to lean and share in the mentorship cohort. Each day is filled with hands on learning techniques to support a new mother and family. You’ll learn Marma therapy for early postpartum healing, belly binding and pelvic steaming for postpartum. We have a hands on cooking day to learn traditional Ayurvedic recipes for postpartum healing. You’ll be served fresh herbal teas and elixirs daily throughout the course to sample and experience the different herbal energetic and effects.
Course Objective:
Gain a deep understanding of the Ayurvedic perspective of healing during postpartum- learn restorative touch techniques including Marma points to support healing- during our cooking day in the kitchen, students will have hands on experience learning how to make nourishing ayurvedic recipes for postpartum healing (ghee, almond milk, kitchari, herbal infusions, herbal ladhus and more)- experience hands-on and learn how to apply abdominal lepana (belly plaster) to encourage healing- experience receiving and facilitating a pelvic steam for postpartum healing

Pilar is the founder and lead practitioner of Pilar’s Wellness Collective. A single mom, village Auntie, cultural midwife, artist and activist, throughout her career she has brought innovative healing strategies and integrative modalities while serving as a practitioner and teacher throughout Southern California for over two decades. She founded Indigo Healing in 2001, infusing therapeutic bodywork with shamanic healing where she developed a subtle body / energy work technique; Shri Prana. In 2004 she formed Gaia Girls, a Goddess / Earth Based Spirituality after-school program for girls that connected childhood creativity with ritual, mystery and the turning of the seasons. Weaving her love and knowledge of Ayurveda with herbal healing and massage therapy, she founded Shri Veda Wellness in 2009. She has been a speaker and presenter around the U.S. and internationally and has developed courses in various topics such as Pelvic Steaming, Breast Care, and Herbal Healing for Women, and Ayurvedic Prenatal and Doula Care. A desire to share herbal formulas beyond in-person consultations came in 2017, when she created Shri Alchemy, an organic herbal line of teas, elixirs and body care products. Wanting to offer more to the community the idea of The Collective was born and a new home in 2020 was created; a place where other gifted practitioners could practice in a collaborative setting and share their healing knowledge, housed within Orange County’s only organic herbal apothecary. In 2023 she was awarded board certified Doctor of Ayurveda by the National Ayurvedic Medical Association for her years of clinical practice, research and study.
